It has been quite a while since I’ve done a product post of any kind so I thought I’d give you guys a glimpse into some fun changes I’ve made recently with packaging. Ain’t it pretty? My clients often tell me they feel like they’re getting a gift when they get their products, which is exactly how I want them to feel! Now they get even prettier and better protected gifts!

I’ll try to squeeze in some more product posts for you in the future!

Oh man, I’m posting so many of these because, one, it’s rare I get to shoot somewhere so unbelievably gorgeous, and two, I just couldn’t narrow it down any more. They have even more in their gallery. My brother lives in Utah, so I made a trip up there in October to take their engagement and bridal photos. It’s always so fun having a session with family. Doesn’t get to happen as often as we’d like, so we had a blast. I’m pretty sure this series has some of my favorite portraits I’ve ever taken, partly due to the subjects of course, but I just love these.

We timed the trip perfectly. These trees were so bright yellow, they were glowing! It was unbelievable. Even better, her wedding colors are yellow and gray, and our session location happened to revolve around those colors which is just awesome. Enjoy!

This is where I got to shoot last week — American Fork Canyon in Utah. Yeah. Not quite Temple, Texas. And those people in the photos? My awesome brother and his beautiful fiancee. I was SO excited to shoot their engagement and bridal photos. I would’ve been so jealous if anyone else got to, and it meant so much to be able to do them. I can’t wait to show you (and them) more. We got a great mix of fun and sweet and romantic, but here’s a quick preview of a couple of my initial favorites.

One freakishly freezing morning in mid-April, I met up with Melissa and her mom to take her bridal portraits. I was wearing a cami, a sweater, and another thick sweater on top of that and was still shivering and shaking from the cold so that tells you how awesome Melissa is for sucking it up and going strapless. We tried keeping her warm between locations with a bathrobe, but I’m telling you she didn’t complain once, and it was cold!

It was fun doing her bridals since I’d also shot their engagement photos, because I already knew their style and could kind of match the locations — the bold greens, the rustic details, and the water. Here are a few of my faves.

Congrats to an amazing couple!

Well, I had intended to post only a couple photos from this wedding last weekend, but as you can see I got carried away! What can I say? I couldn’t narrow it down any further!

I don’t typically photograph weddings but this was a special circumstance, and I hope they were as happy to have me as I was to be there. I have to admit that during the ceremony I got all choked up and had to fight back some tears. I didn’t expect that, but it was all the groom’s fault! He just looked so in love, I couldn’t help it!

My favorite part was spending time with this newly official family after the ceremony away from everything else. It was so obvious they were already such a close family before the paperwork proved it, and I loved watching the interactions between them. Sometimes when I think about it, I find it funny that I get to spend a couple of hours hidden behind a camera, peering through a tiny square hole watching people I’ve only recently had the pleasure of meeting interact as they would without me. It’s my favorite part of this job because it gives me such faith in humanity to see all the joy and love people have for each other.

Congratulations, R and J! I’m so happy for you and your family. Enjoy a peek at your photos! Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your special day!
