Elaborately posed newborn photos have a time and place, and they can be really beautiful. But they’re almost never my favorite photos, and they’re definitely not my personal style. I love the true lifestyle photos — the breastfeeding, the cuddling, the kissing, the entire family interacting. And I absolutely love these photos because of the emotions and personality that you can see in them.
Such a sweet, warm, welcoming family. Love them.

Bottom left: probably my favorite shot of the day. Normally I don’t shoot while we’re trying to soothe the babies, but I’m so glad I snapped this one. Gorgeous.

Another one of my faves below.

…as soon as this image popped up on my computer. I haven’t even finished glancing through their session yet. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was my preview photo for them.

Loved photographing both babies of the house. They are both so completely loved, and I was honored to photograph this very precious child. Aren’t they all too gorgeous?

One of my immediate favorites after glancing through their session from this morning. Is it terrible that I love teasing my clients with the first shot?

What better way to say Happy Valentine’s Day than this? I feel so lucky to have a job where people invite me into their homes, lives, and families and remind me how much love there is in the world. I hope everyone gets to spend Valentine’s day with the people they truly love, romantically or otherwise. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Here is one of my initial favorites from the newborn session I had yesterday afternoon. I could not have asked for a more sweet and cooperative newborn to work with. She even hammed it up for the camera for us and then went to sleep so we could get some sweet sleepy photos of her as well. Perfect! Can’t wait to show you (and the proud mommy and daddy) more!
