For some reason I tend to get a lot more baby girl newborn sessions than baby boy ones. It was a fun change to shoot for a boy, especially in a nursery as adorable as this one. Every time I post anything about this couple I mention how much I love them. They just make sessions especially fun to be at and keep me smiling and laughing. Here are a few from their session.

Although typically I’m not a morning person (as my clients would agree since they usually get emails from me at 3:30AM), I am totally thrilled when people go with my early morning sessions. You just never quite get this kind of beautiful light at any other moment in the day and there’s always a sweetness and peacefulness that comes across in morning sessions, and it makes me happy.

Had a great shoot the other day with a very sweet family. We did a lot of normal portraity photos of course, but truth be told I think these are my favorites and the type of artwork I’d hang in my house. Such beautiful, sweet moments. This is what I love to shoot.
Also…can I have her hair please?

This was one of those sessions where everything just clicked — personalities, sense of humor, location, weather, timing, etc. There was a lot of laughing and giggling going on, and they turned out beautifully. When I look at these, it’s obvious to me that it was a fun morning.
Plus who’s more gorgeous than this a month before their due date? I sure wasn’t, I can tell you that! I’ve been warned that I might not be able to handle the cuteness I’ll encounter at their newborn shoot, and you know what? I believe it.
(Side note to local photogs: if you know this location, please do not impose on the owners’ kindness by requesting shoots. I worked closely with them, and they were generous to allow me to shoot there but I would be sad if they started getting taken advantage of or bombarded.)

I love this family, and I love that I get to see them every year — first the wedding, then Christmas last year, and now Christmas again. I just wuv them so much, and this year was just as fun as I expected, in fact maybe more so because I got to photograph the whole fam this time (last year we just did the girls). I love their interactions. You’ll see what I mean…
