You and your family have your own inside jokes, your own cute pet names for each other, your own favorite obscure comedies that no one else understands, your own memories you love retelling at family get-togethers, and your own way of understanding each other with one glance.

My goal is to capture the essence of all those characteristics in a series of beautifully composed still images, because that essence that you can’t quite put your finger on when you look at my images is you. You are in the details.

During my photography sessions, I create an environment for you to connect — with me, with each other, and with your surroundings — so these small details, nuances, and interactions that make you you can be immortalized forever in a gorgeous, artistic, and timeless way.

I want to give you and your family a unique experience from start to finish. I want you to experience professional photography in a way you’ve never experienced it before.

My photography sessions are all on-location, and they are very relaxed and organic. I direct for technical details such as lighting and composition and loose posing, but I allow you and your loved ones to be yourselves and to interact. You will notice many of my photos have a very candid quality to them.

My name is Shannon Hunt. I am a professional photographer in Central Texas, specializing in lifestyle portrait photography. I am in love with both the technical and artistic sides of photographic art and spend most of my time devoted to continuously improving my skills as a photographer and my business through study and practice. I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II camera body and all Canon L series lenses, and I enhance and retouch my images with the latest versions of Lightroom and Photoshop.

I was raised in the North Dallas area and love to go back any chance I get. I have an incredibly supportive and adoring husband, a beautiful and hilarious young daughter, and a crazy mutt, affectionately referred to as The Turkledog. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a BA in English and still love to read and write when I can.

I absolutely love television and movies – ranging from the brilliant dramas to the downright idiotic reality shows. You’ll never hear me say I’m too busy to watch TV because I am never too busy to watch TV. I’ve just become very good at multi-tasking.

I have an intense addiction to Diet Mountain Dew, ice cream, and cheese. If those three could be combined into one giant appetizer I would probably eat it for every meal.

My favorite shoes are Vans and Chuck Taylors, the classics.

I have a really laid back personality and laugh to tears on a regular basis, but I’m also a perfectionist and very detail-oriented. Both sides of my personality are extremely self-evident in my photography style.
