Well, I just can’t help myself, so you will be seeing more than usual from this session. It was a long time coming (we had to cancel twice due to bad weather), and when I pulled up at our third appointment it was pouring so hard that I had to stop driving on their street because I couldn’t see where I was going. We were determined to wait it out and see if it cleared up though. We are in Texas after all. And I think it was worth the wait! I love the photos we got. This first post is from our waiting-out-the-storm time indoors.
I just have to say, this family was (well, is) so awesome. I love when clients put their total trust in me and just go with my ideas without any hesitation. They gave me free reign of the house, and when I started pulling apart their neatly made bed and setting up in their master bathroom, they totally went for it. I really appreciate their trust and laid-back attitude. As I’m sure you can tell, we really had a good time and so many laughs.
After a few minutes the weather actually did clear up so we headed out. And this family gets even more props for their total enthusiasm and compliance as the park we shot in was soaking wet after a Texas downpour, and, again, they were up for absolutely every idea I threw at them. But you’ll have to wait for the next post to see those photos.

Love, Love, Love them all! So fun! They make me laugh out loud. Wyatt’s squished nose is cracking me up! You somehow captured my kids personality perfectly. Taylor sweet, Barret smiling like usual, and Wyatt a little off in left field at all times! My brother made our bed for us so I love that it is in the picture as well. The bathtub pictures are too cute. Whenever I look at the tub pictures, I will always remember Wyatt looking back and forth at his brother and sister and saying, “now, this is disturbing!” Could not be happier!
I love that Ginger said you really captured her kids personalities perfectly. I can’t wait for you to photograph our family!
I love the fun and excitement in these shots. A portrait for me is not just an image showing the likeness of a person but an image that captures the essence of the person or people. I think these do. Well done.
David.
